A definite enigma. After having spent 3 decades in a European seed bank, it was given an opportunity to again become part of the tomato world. However, its accession is totally unknown. It's advertised in a lot of old Shumway catalogs but that is all that's known about it. We only know that it was deposited in the seed bank under that name. Regular leaf, semi-determinate, 3” average fruit, great production into October, and the variety chosen for crushed canned tomatoes here this year. That seems to be what they were best suited for. A disclaimer must be added since nobody knows exactly what Shumway's Sensation was when originally developed or promoted as. Thus it can only be assumed that what the seed bank had was correct.
